Wardrobe Maintenance

This fall we’re offering two classes on clothing maintenance and basic alterations.  Projects will include replacing buttons, snaps, hooks and eyes, hand and machine hemming and simple alterations including small adjustments to clothing for better fit.   This first class focuses on hand-stitching; the second (10/21) will focus on using our machines.  Projects will include replacing buttons, snaps, hooks and eyes, hand and machine hemming and simple alterations including small adjustments to clothing for better fit.   

Our instructor is Marisa LaRette. Marisa learned to sew from her mother via the structure of 4H.  She worked backstage on Broadway for over 10 years as a costumer and tailor on shows such as Oklahoma, 42nd Street, Les Misérables, Annie Get Your Gun and Rock of Ages.  She then moved on to work television and film including Boardwalk Empire, Carrie Diaries, The Deuce, Fosse Verdon and Blue Bloods. 

Coming from a world where everything must be done quickly and well, Marisa knows it all! Come reap the benefit of Marisa’s vast store of knowledge in this area!
